A wild ride...
As a filmmaker, I am always on the lookout for unique and thrilling stories to capture on camera. And when I heard about a group of German fishermen embarking on a fishing trip to the heart of the Colombian jungle, I knew I had to be a part of it.
The journey started on the coast near Bahia Solano, where the fishermen joined the fishing charter company "Fish Colombia" and set out to catch some of the biggest fish in the Pacific Ocean.
As I filmed their every move, I was struck by the sheer excitement and passion they had for the sport. It was truly a sight to behold.
But as we all know, the adventure never comes without its challenges. The next few days were filled with tumultuous storms and rough waters, making it difficult to get the shots we needed.
And the challenges only got bigger when we drove into the jungle and chartered a plane to reach a remote fishing location.
However, the real adventure began when our boat engine failed in the middle of the night, leaving us stranded in the middle of the jungle. Wondering about how to reach the camp, we saw a light coming closer. The natives came to our rescue and brought us back to their village.
The warmth and hospitality we received from these strangers were truly heartwarming, and I was so struck by this situation that I almost forgot to film it.
As we explored the fishing grounds with our new friends the next day, I was blown away by the beauty of the jungle and the diversity of the fish in the rivers. The fishermen were having the time of their lives, while I was trying to capture every moment.
In conclusion, this trip was a true test of my skills as a filmmaker. I faced challenges that I never thought I would, but it was all worth it in the end. The footage I captured was truly magical, and I am proud to have been a part of this incredible adventure. The story of the fishermen and their journey to the heart of the Colombian jungle will always be one of my proudest moments as a filmmaker, despite the film never being released to the public.
